Life Update

Sorry I have been really lax about updating this site the last few days. I have been super busy with moving and painting my new house, it’s been beyond chaotic. I have tons of things to dump my money into on my house & tons of ideas floating around in my head. I will have to post pictures of my interior design masterpiece once I am finished…. but don’t expect them anytime soon. LOL!

But anyways…. just wanted to let my readers, if there are any of you left, know that I am still alive. However, my wallet is another story.

I need your inspiration!

I know I haven’t made any really glorious posts here lately, but for good reason. I have been home searching for the last few months, and finally got one I LOVE! So, here’s my new house. We’re closing on the 5th of June only because Freddic Mac is back logged with all of the foreclosures on the market.

Anyways… I am SO damn excited! But, I need your help! I need interior design inspiration. I know this blog is all about giving ideas and inspiration, but I need some inspiration myself.

So… gimmie your ideas! I’d love to hear about them!

Happy Holidays!

I just wanted to take some time out to say “Happy Holidays!” to everyone. Thank you so much for visiting my site for the last year and I appreciate all “love” I get from you guys. Anyways, I hope everyone’s holidays are as wonderful as mine will be with my family.

Too bad I am not used to Chicago weather and I am not used to minus 4 outside.

Home Made Christmas

I know that I am trying to keep my debt this year for Christmas little to none. I want to be able to celebrate that I didn’t go into debt at all from Christmas this year, which means I have to BUDGET… BIG TIME! I have a budget of about $100 to gift to 5 people, and another $200 for my boyfriend, parents, and brother. BUT… the nice part is that I got a lot of the gifts for my parents and brother in Boston.

So… here’s some ideas for you, as well as myself for home made Christmas gifting ideas:

  1. Make home made soap. Package in festive cellophane.
  2. Make home made booze. Think of alternative packaging.
  3. Give the gift of time. Teach someone something I know, that they want to learn.
  4. Make personalized calendars.
  5. Make home made spices/oils for cooking. Buy packaging at Cost Plus.
  6. Make home made tea cup candles — mainly for the ladies since this is REALLY girly.

Also, Here’s some good DIY Resources for gifts:

  1. Not Martha
  2. Get Rich Slowly

Thank you, soldiers, for all that you do for our country.

Remember to vote tomorrow!!

I am excited. I FINALLY get to vote in this year’s election. I know who I am voting for (Obama!!!). And… as we speak… I am getting my little cheat sheet together on what props I am voting for (definately NO on AZ Prop 102). That, and I am donating my facebook status to the election for the next few days. I feel so politically active (in my own retarded way).

Last time I didn’t vote because I forgot to request my IL absentee ballot. I was going to college at the time and lived in IA. I never registered in IA, so I was shit out of luck when it came to voting. Plus, Illinois voted exactly how I would have anyways. The election before, I was too young to vote by less than 60 days (boo!).

I am kind of nervous, though. I really wanted to vote early, but I didn’t have time when I realized that I could vote in a location instead of mailing in my ballot. That… and I forgot to mail in my post card requesting my mail-in ballot. Nothing but small bumps in the road. But… now I have to suck it up, be patient (which I am not good at), and wait in line with Matt for 50 million hours to go vote. But… it will be totally worth it.

I am excited.

BTW… I am totally stoked the time zones changed. Arizona never changes their time, so Central time is only 1 hour difference now instead of 2. YAY! I love it! I can call my parents at 7 at night and not worry about whether or not they’re sleeping. It’s hard to get a hold of people when you work 2 jobs.

On the political note, here are some of my favorite pictures of politics I found today (the sources are linked to their images):

Otherwise, things are ok. Nothing too exciting going on, but that’s ok.

Happy Halloween, BTW!
